The proposed 897 foot dock with handrails will include a covered pier, kayak launch and offer opportunities for members to view sunsets, fish, kayak and stand up paddle board from the community common area.
The dock will feature a secure entrance with gated access.
The water depth at our dock, like all lowcountry docks will vary based on the tide schedules and weather conditions.
The dock location was assessed by South Carolina Ocean and Coastal Resource Management (OCRM) staff and surveyors with the Dock Committee who used a 17' Boston Whaler during sites visits in 2022.
More than 3' feet of water depth was recorded and photographed by volunteer Dock Committee Members an hour before high tide on 4/20/2024 at the proposed dock fixed pier head and kayak launch area on Conch Creek.

The project total costs are being finalized this month, with the current expectation of the project to be approximately 250k. A 10 year bank loan from a preferred lender will allow for our community to spread the costs of the dock over a ten year period, resulting in lower annual assessments to cover the dock payment.
The projected cost per day amounts to less than a cup of coffee per day (closer to a McDonalds cup of Coffee, not Starbucks) to add a dock to the community per homeowner.
While there is no easy way to project the economic valuation of adding a dock to the community, prominent business newspapers such as the Wall Street Journal have featured articles on the high demand for coastal docks. Project Overview: In 2022, The Oaks at Marsh View neighborhood was approved by the United States Army Corps of Engineers and the South Carolina Office of Coastal Resource Management for the construction of a dock for use for the community.
This exciting new waterfront amenity, featuring a fixed covered pier head and kayak launch, is set to enhance the low country living experience for all community members—pending a supportive community vote.
Like desirable waterfront amenities from other adjacent communities, including Fiddlers Marsh, Scotts Creek, and Heirloom Landing - the planned dock will allow residents to fully embrace the low country lifestyle.
Imagine enjoying serene sunrises and sunset views, engaging in fishing, crabbing, and seasonal shrimping, or launching kayaks and stand-up paddleboards into Conch Creek. From here, access is seamless to the Intracoastal Waterway and Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms and beyond, opening up endless possibilities for water-based recreation.
Support of the proposed dock will enhance our community amenities and enrich our connection with the natural beauty of our low country surroundings.
